Job description

For our headquarters in Milan, we are looking for a Corporate Development and M&A Associate who will support the development of our business strategies and identify acquisition opportunities to accelerate our growth.

In this role, you will report to and assist the Head of Corporate Development & M&A, executing end to end M&A opportunities, fundraising tasks and analyses of the e-grocery industry ecosystem.

What you will do

In this role, you will support the Head of Corporate Development & M&A in the management of key external relationships (e.g., investment funds or banks), deal sourcing and execution of new investment opportunities, partnerships/alliances, acquisitions, mergers, planning and developing our M&A and strategic investments worldwide.

  • You will screen, assess and originate M&A opportunities, including strategic fit, rationale and potential critical issues;
  • You will interact with and manage investment banks and transaction services providers in M&A processes;
  • You will assist in development of negotiation tactics and actively participate in negotiation of smaller transactions;
  • You will develop general market researches (transactions, competitors and/or players) of the e-grocery industry ecosystem;
  • You will create PPT presentations, deck and other internal decision documents;
  • You will engage with and challenge business unit / commercial teams in business case development;
  • You will interact with internal and external legal counsel professionals as part of the negotiations / legal contract drafting (i.e. coordination between legal and internal area experts).

Requirements

  • You got a Master Degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering;

  • You developed up to 3 years of experience in the investment banking field or in top consulting firms, with a strong focus on the consumer tech industry;

  • You have a proven track record in managing large scale strategic projects (e.g. M&A, business development or organizational transformation);

  • You are highly procifient with Excel for business cases, modelling, valuation and simulations;

  • You are highly procifient with Powerpoint and Word skills for development of presentations, transaction documents (e.g. CIM, etc.)

  • You are comfortable with complex quantitative data;

  • You can demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and endurance;

  • You have a strong commitment, interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial thinking;

  • You are fluent in Italian and English, with excellent verbal and in writing skills in delivering analyses and presentations.
